‘Prosthetics is the provision of cosmetic and/or functional artificial limbs (prostheses) for people who have had an amputation or have a congenital deficiency’.
At SPAO we manufacture a complete range of upper and lower extremity prosthetic devices at our facility in Unanderra.
All our prostheses are custom made from casts and measurements. These are made from high quality components and materials specifically chosen for individual clients needs.
As well as providing standard prosthetic componentry we can utilise the latest technology including:
- Silicone and Polyurethane interface
- Carbon fibre sockets
- Myoelectric upper limb prostheses
- Microprocessor controlled prosthetic componentry, including:
- C-Leg
- Proprio foot
- Dynamic Arm
- I-Limb hand

SPAO is the Australian authorised representative of Dorset Orthopaedic in the UK. Dorset is the market leader in high quality silicone cosmetic covers for prostheses as well as restorations for partial hands and single digits. We are proud to be associated with Dorset who are internationally renowned and sought after for their life-like prosthetic replications.
Southern Prosthetics is an authorised provider of prostheses to all eligible Artificial Limb Service (ALS) clients. We also supply devices to compensable clients covered by insurance as well as to private individuals. Some of our clientele regularly travel interstate and great distances to access our services.
